My name is Susan Bascillo I am a registered Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapy of Ontario and a graduate from York University School of Social Work Program. I am a qualified mental health professional. I have experience working with individuals who have had or is experiencing life changing events which have significantly impacted many layer of their life.
I enjoy working with people from diverse background. Being a psychotherapist has allowed me to connect with society and better understand our thought processes and behaviors. I use many different therapeutic techniques to work with each individual who are dealing with mental and emotional issues so they can regain control of their lives. I employ various theories and ideas in order to provide best practices and care that is specific to each individual needs. In addition to working in a field that I love, I have the opportunity to explore new challenges, while helping you grow as individual and rediscover your-self.
I believe the body mind and spirit are connected and for this reason I practice from a Holistic framework using an integrative approach that focuses on the relationship between mind, body, and spirit, attempting to understand and address the ways issues in one aspect of a person can lead to concerns in other areas of life.
This approach helps my clients to become better attuned to their entire awareness, which can often promote greater acceptance of the self. Everyone is unique for this reason I practice form a person centered approach. As a therapist I am not committed to a singular therapeutic approach. Instead, I blend elements from different approaches and tailor their treatment according to each client's needs. I don’t believe in one size fits all therapy.
